Linus Klausenitzer will be live streaming a digital bass workshop from his home studio with live interaction where viewers can participate via video chat and text messages. He doesn’t offer bass lessons online so don’t miss this rare opportunity! Please note that the amount of tickets is strictly limited to 10 people per workshop.

Topics:

• Composing bass lines: Linus Klausenitzer will demonstrate different options to make a song better with your bass playing. He will give you new ideas and explain some bass lines that he wrote for the recent OBSCURA album “Akróasis”.
• Special playing techniques & phrasing: You will learn how to make a difference to other bass players beyond the standards that most bass players use.
• Working on bass sounds: Finding a musical identity is one of the most difficult challenges of being a musician. Linus will show you how to find ways to achieve your own bass and band sound.
• The role of a bass in a metal rhythm group: The way that bass players use their instruments has changed a lot in the last few decades. Linus will show you what is important to make a band sound good as a bass player.

German musical virtuoso Hannes Grossmann (Alkaloid, Blotted Science, Hate Eternal, ex-Obscura, ex-Necrophagist) has released his second solo album entitled “The Crypts of Sleep” today.

Linus Klausenitzer recorded all bass tracks on this album using his Ibanez ATK, his fretless Ibanez BTB7 and Ibanez BTB 676.
Grossmann plays drums on the entire album and enlisted the the help of numerous all-stars in the extreme music scene including Danny Tunker (Alkaloid, Abhorrent, ex-Aborted) – Rhythm and Lead Guitars, Linus Klausenitzer (Obscura, Alkaloid, Noneuclid) – Bass, Morean (Alkaloid, Dark Fortress, Noneuclid) – Vocals, Christian Muenzner (Spawn of Possession, ex-Obscura, ex-Necrophagist) – Lead Guitars, Fountainhead (ex-Obscura, Despotic) – Lead Guitars, Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry) – Lead Guitars, and Erik Rutan (ex-Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal) – Lead Guitars.

Produced by the band and V. Santura (Triptykon, Pestilence), Akroasis is eight songs diverse enough to serve as a near-comprehensive introduction to all of extreme metal. On May 1st the official bass tablature book of Akróasis will be released.
“I am very proud to present the first-ever bass tablature book of Obscura! Every single note is written down by myself in the way I played it on the album. The bass tracks are recorded with a seven string bass and a six string bass tuned one step down. It is possible to use a six string bass for all bass lines on the album. This is the reason why all notation in this book is written down for a six string setup. With a 5 string bass you should be able to play most of the material as well.” – Linus Klausenitzer

Obscura started their festival season 2016 with a performance at the Hammersonic Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia – the biggest Metal Festival in Asia Pasific.
